Blade Dancers

Blade Dancers are mystic warriors, devoted to the blade. They channel raw arcane energy into their blades through dance. Blade Dancers in battle are both fierce and beautiful. For a Blade Dancer, fighting is an art. Blade Dancers spend a great deal of time practicing their dancing and maintaining their swords, and as a result rarely devote time to other skills. Blade Dancers do not wear armor, finding that it hampers their ability to tap into the arcane forces. Instead they learn to both avoid blows and utilize pure arcane force to defend themselves (unarmored defense proficiency) this ability grows over time.

A Blade Dancers class skills are (Acrobatics, Craft (weapons), Knowledge (arcane), Perform (dance), Perception, Sleight of Hand, Spell craft, and Stealth)
Blade Dancers get 4 skill points per level and use a d8 for hit dice.

Blade Dancers must craft and maintain their own blades which serve as an arcane focus for channeling their spells. Blade Dancers must also perform a dance in order to cast. A dance is a fluid movement, and each round the dance requires the dancer to move at least 5 feet, if unable to do so the dance ends at the end of the dancers turn. When a Blade Dancer stops dancing, all their active spells instantly end. This movement can be a 5 foot step. Beginning a performance is a full round action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. At the beginning of their “performance” the blade dancer will make a perform (dance) skill check, they must succeed on a DC 15+spell level in order to cast spells of that level during the performance. For example, a performance check of 18 would allow the dancer to cast up to level 3 spells during that particular performance. Only one check is made at the beginning of the performance and that result is maintained until the dancer stops and begins a new dance. For every 5 points that the dancer exceeds the spell level by, the DC to resist spells of that level is increased by 1. Blade Dancers know (have access to) all spells from the Blade Dancer Spell List. Blade Dancers cast spontaneously, simply willing the arcane forces into existence. Their casting stat is Charisma.

A blade dancer must have both his blades drawn in order to cast, these are his arcane focus, and all his spells manifest through the blades. If a Blade Dancer’s blades are lost or broken, he cannot cast again until he crafts a new blade (or blades). The blade dancer must use the finest materials and must create a blade of at least masterwork quality for it to qualify as his arcane focus. The base creation cost for any blade used as an arcane focus is doubled.
